nail art: star spangled fingers
July 2, 2012
July 4th is just two days away, so it’s the perfect time to start thinking about your holiday mani. The stars, stripes, and classic colors of the day lend themselves so well to nail art.
Head on over to the Birchbox blog to see what I’ll have on my fingers on Wednesday!
Will your nails be decked out in red, white, and blue? Let me know in the comments!

This is an awesome idea! I might have to try it out!
Mine are a red from OPI’s holiday collection with some random patriotic nail stickers on them
I did all my nails in different stars and stripes design. Scotch tape is amazing to help do the lines!
Nice! I love Scotch tape – it would make great flag nails!
i tried your red white and blue design and it looked awesome
Sweet, Sidney! Happy 4th!
Hello, I was wondering if you had any tips for getting the polish around the cuticle area looking smooth and having that uninterrupted rounded line as opposed to ragged looking?
Hey Yvonne! After I paint my nails, I dip an angled eyeliner brush in nail polish remover and slowly run it along my entire cuticle line. This cleans up the manicure so well and makes it look so much more polished and professional in just one easy step. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!
thank you! That sounds very effective. I also heard of using those pointy Q tips. Which ever one I pass first on my next drugstore trip, I will try followed by the other one to compare. ^_^
