nail art: nautical stripes
I got my hands on a Models Own nail art pen last week (thanks, Angela!), and I’ve been doing variations of the same mani ever since. Stripes, stripes, stripes, I just can’t stop. This blue and white mani looks very nautical, or very J.Crew. Both are good.
I started with China Glaze First Mate (a rare one-coater!) and used the nail art pen to paint diagonal stripes halfway down one accent nail. Any thin nail art or makeup brush will do. I got some white polish around the edges, so I dipped a small brush in remover for a quick clean-up job. Make sure to let the stripes dry completely before adding a top coat so they don’t smear together. Anchors away!

ack! everytime I come on your blog I find another nail trend I want to try! keep up the good work Anna!
Thanks, Lianna!!
love it !!!

Thanks, Ashley!
Any recommendations for a nail art pen, what brand do you like.
Hey Suzanne! I’ve been using one from Models Own that is actually a very thin brush rather than a pen. (http://www.modelsownit.com/nails/nail-art-pens.html). Models Own is hard to find in the US, but I’ve heard good things about this marker-like product from Sally Hansen: http://sallyhansen.com/products/nails/nail-color/nail-art-pen. You can also get good lines with a thin paintbrush or makeup brush. Thanks for commenting!
