style board: lippmann run the world (girls) collection
Are we wearing neon as much as the fashion and beauty worlds think we are? I’m not so sure. Regardless, Deborah Lippmann has a new collection of brights out, and at least she’s changing it up a bit with the demi-matte finish. The collection includes I Kissed a Girl (pink), It Girl (yellow), Hollaback Girl (orange), Nasty Girl (fuchsia), and Party Girl (salmon). Here are a few other bright finds…
1. Bette Platform Wedges, J.Crew, $168
2. Fluoro Deco Pendant, BaubleBar, $24
3. Deborah Lippmann Run the World (Girls) Collection, $45
4. The Skinny in Buttercup, Joe’s Jeans, $158
5. Imogen Tote, Anthropologie, $88
6. Orange Pop Knot Studs, BaubleBar, $24
What do you think of the craze – fun or overdone?

Ooh, i actually really like that collection. The purple and the yellow – and I generally think yellow nailpolish is a really bad idea (mostly on my skintone). & I think the necklace would make a cool DIY.
Great idea with the DIY – a few charms, a neon cord, and a few knots!
I have OPI Need Sunglasses? for my only yellow and I really like it!
Yellow is tricky, it definitely depends on your skin tone. I’ve used Mattese Elite Almost Famous a few times (http://glittershewrote.com/2012/03/27/and-it-was-all-yellow/) but I’m still on the fence.
I think nails is a pretty tame way to wear neons and they are fun for summer, esp. for say, the beach. But with that said, I looked at the Summer Neons 2012 collection from China Glaze and really, was there anything new in there? I feel like there’s only so much you can do and it’s even more repetitive than other nail polish collections. I’m passing on all of it.
