style board: spring greys

April 26, 2012

I don’t know about you, but just because it’s spring doesn’t mean I suddenly want to wear pastels and flowery shades all the time. Brights and lights certainly have their place this season, but you don’t need to put all of your dark colors into hibernation.

Greys can help you avoid seasonal whiplash while transitioning from winter darks to spring/summer polish. (Though I think it’s perfectly fine to rock a nearly-black purple in the middle of July!) Here are a few greys I’ll be wearing this spring, no matter how warm and sunny the weather gets.

1. The Skinny in Shark, Joe’s Jeans, $158

2. The Thames, Nails Inc.

3. Cocktail Bling, Essie, $8

4. Steel, RGB, $16

5. Chimney Sweep, Butter London, $14

6. Linocut Printthe big harumph, $20

Do you change your nail polish wardrobe as the seasons change? Let me know in the comments!

“seasonal whiplash” hehehe, love it! I pretty much resist the urging to be a part of a trend, be it seasonal colour or fashion. If I like it, I wear it, and I don’t care when it is in the year :D .

What about the new grey in the OPI New York City Ballet collection? I am loving that collection.

I sadly don’t have anything from that collection (yet) – but they’re such nice wearable colors.

I am usually not into Soft Shades but I LOVE it so far. I’m wearing Care to Danse and Pirouette my Whistle right now.
