weekend update: tourist-ing new york

April 9, 2012

My parents were in town this weekend, and we had a lovely time walking, eating, and shopping our way through the city. The beautiful spring weather was perfect for a visit to Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene and a sunny stroll above midtown on The High Line. Here are a few snapshots from the last couple of days…

I chose a few early birthday gifts at the flea market, including these cute little state charms from Brooklyn-based Birdhouse Jewelry.

Did you do anything special over this Easter/Passover weekend? Let me know in the comments!

Seder Dinner at my old boss George Wein’s apartment, drank my first glass of Cristal there on Good Friday!, Cindy Sherman exhibit at MoMa, Sunday’s Best at the Easter Parade, and DeKalb Market to see my friend $mallChange DJ and the amazing Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens perform!

I need to go visit a flea market one of these days. I would’ve snatched one of those polaroid cameras right up…I reallllyyy want a vintage old one. And I love the state charms you bought.
