style board: effie trinket of the hunger games

March 30, 2012

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve fallen hard for The Hunger Games. The book, the movie…I love it all.

Effie Trinket may not be the most loveable character, but she is certainly the leader of the style pack. From her cotton candy hair to her frosty lip colors, Effie’s futuristic fashions are hard to overlook. I chose a few polishes that capture Miss Trinket’s eerily colorful style so you can bring a bit of the Capitol to your own nails.

1. Essie Pink-a-Boo & She’s Picture Perfect, 2. Models Own Beetlejuice Indian Ocean & Beetlejuice Copper Pot, 3. Nails Inc. Spring Mews & Marylebone, 4. Deborah Lippmann Sugar Daddy & Mermaid’s Dream

Have you seen The Hunger Games yet? If so, leave a comment and tell me what you thought!

This post is amazing! All those colors fit perfectly for Effie. She likes anything a bit out there, so the Beetlejuice holographic-like nail polish suits her well. I love the Essie pastels too.

I’m seeing the movie tonight, FINALLY. It seems that the whole world has seen it already, except for me.

Thanks, Becky! Let me know what you think of the movie! I think you’ll really like all the costumes and makeup in the Capitol – lots of good eye-candy.

I read the book and it is absolutely amazing! I was crying and immediately had to find the other two books! I can’t wait to see the movie! And I love all of the colors you chose, adding them to my wish-list now!
